To those of you who are new around here, I have a slight obsession with Melissa Foster’s bad boy heroes and sexy, spunky female leads. She writes characters I can fall in love with over and over again, and crafts books that I am unable to put down. With my review of The Wicked Aftermath coming tomorrow, I thought it only fitting that I share one of my past biker loves with you … the Whiskey family!
I give you Bear and Crystal!
Bear: fierce, loyal, sexy as sin!
Melissa Foster has an insane way of creating sexy, tough biker alpha males (say that 5 times fast!) but they’re all incredibly loyal. Bear is tough, just like all the other amazing lead males I’ve read of hers. Bear is loyal, caring, and honestly … he has more self-control than many guys would in the same situation.

ABOUT THE BOOK
Eight months is a long damn time to have the hots for a woman who keeps a guy at arm’s length. But Crystal Moon is no ordinary woman. She’s a sinfully sexy, sass-mouthed badass, and the subject of Bear Whiskey’s midnight fantasies. She’s also one of his closest friends.
Just when Crystal thinks she has her life under control, scorching-hot, possessive, aggressive, and fiercely loyal Bear pushes all her sexual buttons, relentless in his pursuit to make her his.
The more Bear pushes, the hotter their passion burns, unearthing memories for Crystal that are best kept buried. But there’s no stopping the collision of her past and present, catapulting the two lovers down an emotionally charged road that has them questioning all they thought they knew about themselves.
Crystal: what a tease!
Crystal Moon is a great character … BUUUUUTTTT, she’s also kind-of a tease. Like really a tease.
Put your pitchforks away … yes, Crystal has been through this awful experience in college. And I give her props for putting herself back together and mostly moving on. But for a good portion of the book, she’s totally willing to get her own pleasure but nope, no sex for you. She’ll sit there with nothing but her undergarments on but nope. I call that a tease and, as much as I love how they turn out, it wasn’t my favorite part about her.
He’s always asking her for permission. And Crystal thinks it’s sweet and romantic, but then she’s still a tease. This, I put on her. Not Bear. He bends over backwards to accommodate her and make sure she doesn’t feel like he’s forcing himself on her. And I’m reading it while thinking throw the guy a freaking bone!
“Bobby Bear Whiskey,” she said breathlessly. “I’m truly, madly, crazily in love with you.”Truly, Madly, Whiskey by Melissa Foster
She may frustrate the crud out of me but oh my gosh, that is so romantic! Crystal’s character isn’t all bad – she designs freaking costumes, for crying out loud. That is so awesome! And you can see how much she loves Bear.
The Whiskeys – I seriously love that family!
This is my kryptonite. I love stories with strong family bonds. The Whiskeys are that family. I love how Bear’s brothers, his sister Dixie, and his parents are all super present in his life. Even extended family, like Tru and Gemma (and of course, the little cuties – Kennedy and Lincoln). They’re all amazing.
“Uncle Boney!” Kennedy said, pulling him from his thoughts.Truly, Madly, Whiskey by Melissa Foster
Am I the only one who seriously cracked up at this? Kennedy is A-FREAKING-DORABLE! But oh my gosh, “Uncle Boney”!!!

Narration by Paul Woodson … OMGosh!
It’s #AudiobookMonth so of course, we’re going to touch on one of my ABSOLUTE FREAKING FAVORITE NARRATORS EVER! Paul Woodson does an amazing job at defining both male and female voices, as well as the adorable little kids that pop into Melissa Foster’s books. I loved his narrating techniques back when I read Driving Whiskey Wild (which focuses on Bear’s brother, Bullet). This time, I adored him even more!
