October 2020 TBR Hopefuls

Happy Monday, bookpups! Can you believe it’s October already? Me either! Time has flown by this year. This month, instead of making a set TBR (and then abandoning it completely), I’m testing out something I saw on Bookstagram … TBR Hopefuls ๐Ÿคž My October TBR Hopefuls are a bit outside my normal romance genre picks but perhaps that’s exactly what I need.

QOTD: Does October make you reach for “spookier” books?

I have been in such a reading slump over the past couple weeks that I’ve started reaching for anything outside of my normal romance genre. And when it comes to thrillers, suspense, or “spooky” books, no one does it quite like the King.

Okay, so it’s already halfway through the month. I am still hopeful of reading at least ONE of the books on this list.

The Darkest Evening of the Year by Dean Koontz
The Long Walk by Stephen King
Frankenstein by Dean Koontz
Carrie by Stephen King
Firestarter by Stephen King

I’m very excited for this list, as it’s perfect for autumn and even includes Carrie, which made it onto the Banned Books List! I watched the movie of Firestarter years ago and have wanted to read the book ever since.

With any luck, these books (a drastic change from my normal romance picks) will pull me out of the reading slump I’ve been stuck in since … the beginning of September, I think! What books are you hoping to read in October?

I’m really looking forward to reading it. I absolutely LOVE Stephen King but it’s never made it onto my TBR.
