Hi book friends! I’ve been reading so many amazing books lately and so I’ve decided that I’m going to do something that I’ve never done before, in an attempt to stay accountable for the challenges I’m participating in. I’m going to share my progress (so far) with each of this year’s reading challenges, including our own 2021 AtoZ. Are you ready to see my progress so far??

If you’re interested in seeing my full mid-year update, you can go check that out. But for this post, I’m going to take a closer look at the challenges I’ve signed up for and hope to complete this year 🙂
2021 Literary Escapes Reading Challenge
Goal: 50 States + District of Columbia
I’m actually a bit impressed with the progress I’ve made on the Literary Escapes Challenge. I didn’t realize how many books I’ve been reading give you an actual location. Each time I pick up a new book, I’ve been searching through Goodreads or making note the first time the author mentions the location.
2021 Goodreads Reading Challenge
Goal: 75 books
I’ve already updated my goal once, having started at a goal of 50. I started 2021 off with a huge reading slump but, as that passed, I decided to challenge myself to reading more. While Goodreads tells me that I’m only 37% of the way to completing my challenge, I’m still pleased with the progress I’m making.
Of course, as soon as I add another book to my Goodreads challenge, this widget will change. GRRRR, Goodreads! 😣
2021 AtoZ Reading Challenge
Goal: 26 books
This challenge is our own baby 🙂 While it’s the 4th year we’ve hosted the AtoZ Reading Challenge, this is the first year that I’ve really participated in it. As I look through my Kindle and physical library, I’m finding that I have far more letters of the alphabet than I originally thought. There are still going to be a few pesky letters that only offer a choice or two, but I’ve enjoyed adding to my challenge total with all the books I’ve read this year!
100K Page Challenge
Goal: 100,000 pages
I haven’t really set a time limit for the 100K Page Challenge … it’s more of a fun way to see how many pages I can read. I think my tentative goal is 5 years but it’s not set in stone. This is also a challenge of our own making 🙂
2021 Summer NetGalley Challenge
Goal: 16 books
The Summer NetGalley Challenge is another challenge I’ve created, as a way to clear through my backlog of books on NetGalley and hopefully raise my feedback ratio, with started the summer at a dismal 37%. I had 88 books and 1 audiobook in my TBR and a total of 55 reviews sent.
Somehow, I still have 88 books and 1 audiobook in my TBR, and a total of 56 reviews sent. This has bumped me up to a feedback ratio of 38%. It still sucks … but it’s better than 37. I haven’t read a single book off my NetGalley Challenge TBR, but there’s still a month to go in the challenge 🙂
