Indie Readers Book Club

Calling All Indie Readers!

Do you love to read books with incredible world-building, strong characters, and maybe even a little love-story included? So do we! And did you know that you can find this from authors who have chosen NOT to be published by a traditional publishing house? Or authors whose stories may have been rejected by those large publishing houses, but still deserve to be told?

So do we!

At Bookstacks & Golden Moms, we are very passionate about helping authors share their stories with the world. Many book bloggers turn their noses up at Indie authors for a number of reasons: they many times offer e-books instead of physical copies, they don’t always have the advertising budget to pay for reviews or spotlights, and they’re regularly snubbed as being lesser quality.

How we fell in love with Indie books …

As newbie book bloggers back in 2017, we had a hard time getting accepted for traditionally published review copies. We didn’t have the social media following and our blog was still a baby. The big publishing houses just weren’t willing to waste their time on us. (no hard feelings ๐Ÿ™‚). But this was the best thing that could have happened to us because we were introduced to the world of INDIE AUTHORS.

Indie books were easily accessible to us, as new bloggers. But many of the stories we read were just as well-written (sometimes even better) than the traditionally published books we had been reading. We found so many new authors to binge-read, just because we opened ourselves up to indies.

Indie authors need much more support than traditional authors!

This isn’t a slam! Traditionally published authors simply have more marketing resources at their disposal than indie authors. While I will tell the whole world over and over how much I love Nora Roberts or Stephen King, let’s face it … they don’t need my help.

It wasn’t until the spring of 2020 (while stuck at home during the pandemic) that I stumbled on Abbie Emmons on YouTube and realized everything that went into being an indie author (and why, for many aspiring authors, it’s a far better choice than traditionally publishing). You can check out her video ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿ‘‡ and if you’re an aspiring author, I highly recommend her channel!

Let’s read indie together!

Don’t lie, you knew this was coming ๐Ÿคฃ

Do you want to support indie authors, like we do? That’s why we’ve created the INDIE READERS BOOK CLUB!

The Indie Readers Book Club (#indiereadersbookclub) is a feature here on Bookstacks & Golden Moms, as well as on our Bookstagram. We’ll be spotlighting some of our favorite indie authors, as well as reviewing their books. As the Book Club grows, we’ll even be doing monthly buddy reads (I can’t wait!).

Are you an indie author?

We are always looking for new authors with high-quality books!

If you’re an indie author and would like to be considered for our book club, leave your NAME, the TITLE OF YOUR BOOK, and the GENRE in the comments below. (This provides extra exposure for your book, even if we decide not to feature it, as all our readers will be able to see your comment).

First, a few minor details:

  1. If your book is chosen for a review, we will need a Kindle or physical copy gifted to us. Please do not ask us to review your book and then expect us to go purchase it, ourselves (we’ve seen many authors do this. It’s rude.)
  2. Please do not add more than one book for consideration. If we review your book and enjoy it, we will gladly feature some of your other works. We ask that you give all authors a fair chance at exposure and not spam the comments with multiple books at a time.
  3. Please follow the submission instructions above โ˜๏ธ or your book will not be considered.

Thank you for your interest in our little book club! We’re so excited to get reading with you ๐Ÿ˜„ For any other questions, please refer to our REVIEW POLICY or feel free to reach out to us on social media!

Happy indie reading!
