Good morning, bookpups๐พ Do you love retellings? Geekerella by Ashley Poston is the first in an addictive fairytale series that meshes Cinderella with a Star Trek-based fandom, creating a unique retelling you won’t want to stop reading!
QOTD: Do you have a favorite fandom?
I am most definitely a Trekkie! So when I saw a fairytale retelling that centers around a Star Trek-esque fanbase, I had to read it! And I fully blame Once Upon a Time for my current obsession with fairytale retellings.

The thing I enjoyed most about Geekerella was seeing it unfold from both Elle and Darien’s points of view. I love dual POVs, as oftentimes the reader knows what’s going to happen long before the characters do. It becomes a sort of shared secret between author and reader.
This is the classic Cinderella story, with the addition of a very loud and on-the-verge-of-falling-apart vegan food truck (the Magic Pumpkin) and then an entirely new twist as we visit Darien and see his story progress. And of course, I thoroughly enjoyed watching Elle’s stepmother get it. She’s written in such a way that you dislike her from the very beginning.
As a Trekkie, I loved that this story centered around a sci-fi show (very much like Star Trek) and the ExcelsiCon (geek/nerd convention) that went with it. A fairytale with a sci-fi twist … a great combination!

This has been on my TBR for some time. Glad you enjoyed!
I’m looking forward to reading the second one so I can go get my hands on the 3rd (that one centers around Beauty & the Beast!).
Yesss, the entire series looks lovely. ๐
Not my genre but I love the title and am drawn to the cover
This cover seriously is gorgeous. It was one of the first things to draw me to the book, other than the fairytale retelling part LOL ๐
I loved Geekerella! Great book.
I enjoy fairy tale retellings. Adding this to my TBR.
Fairytale retellings are gold to me. One of my favorite genres, outside of romance ๐
I have this one with me. And I need to read it soon.
If you like fairytales and sci-fi, it’s definitely a must-read ๐ I’m eager to read the rest of the series.
