July 3, 2021
Favorite Books of 2021

Hi book friends! Happy long holiday weekend (for all our friends in the USA)! I am looking forward to a long weekend of reading, hanging out with my little minions, and relaxing. But before we jump into that, I want to share my favorite books of 2021 (I’ve had a major reading slump … cut me some slack). Along with my favorites, I’ve collected a few favorites from around the Book Blog World ๐Ÿ™‚

July means we’re halfway through the year already! And it also means that it’s time to start talking about my favorite reads of 2021 (at least, the first half). As someone who’s been through quite the reading slump over the last … 6-9 months, I don’t have many books to choose from. But thankfully, my reading choices have been great and I’ve had the opportunity to read amazing books this year!

The Memory Keeper Jenny Hale book review

The Memory Keeper by Jenny Hale
โญโญโญโญโญ (5/5 stars)

From Goodreads reviewer Tanja – KT Book Reviews – “I feel as if the word perfection is used too much when I describe one of Jenny Hale’s books, but it is what it is people! For me, she is exactly what I need in an author. Descriptive words used for her books would be: fun, smart, and endearing. Simply put its quality writing with heart.”

Mini Review:
I loved the characters Jenny Hale created in this book! The sense of family, the crush from her childhood, and that diary of Gran’s! Experiencing Gran’s youth along with the present-tense gave the story an extra layer of depth. Jenny has become an instant auto-buy author for me!

The Wicked Aftermath by Melissa Foster

The Wicked Aftermath by Melissa Foster
โญโญโญโญโญ (5/5 stars)

From Goodreads reviewer JudyAnnLovesBooks – “From page 1, The Wicked Aftermath will take you on an emotional roller coaster of a ride as you navigate every single emotion out there. There will be incredible highs and devastating lows but in the end, happiness, love and family will prevail.”

Many of you already know what a huge Melissa Foster fan I am, but this book took my obsession to an entirely new level. With a heart-crushing start, I fell in love with Tank and Leah even more! This is a TWO-TISSUE box book.

The Sheikh's Secret Bride by Leslie North

The Sheikh’s Secret Bride by Leslie North
โญโญโญโญโญ (5/5 stars)

From Goodreads reviewer Cheryl Graham-Petit – “From the hot and sexy cover, to the very last page, Leslie North has inexplicably drawn you in to this quick and easy-to-read love story.”

I am such a sucker for a good Sheikh romance. And Leslie North is amazing at writing them! I loved watching Janna plan her wedding, even though she didn’t know it was hers … and of course, Nassir’s ploy to get her to marry him. Is it a marriage of convenience or true love?

Genes Mary Ting June 2021 TBR

Genes by Mary Ting
โญโญโญโญโญ (5/5 stars)

From Goodreads reviewer Jen (Star-Crossed Book Blog) “Genes was an explosion of action and adventure, I was beyond addicted. With characters I loved, new twists and turns, being on the brink of war and so much unknown, I was glued to the pages.”

This third installment of the ISAN series certainly didn’t disappoint. We find out who Ava’s twin is (AAAAARRRRRGGGGHHHH!) and rejoice, as well as mourn with our favorite characters. Definitely a cliffhanger ending … I can’t wait to see what book 4 brings!

In the Ravenous Dark favorite books

Review by Bianca @ Your Words My Ink

In the Ravenous Dark by A.M. Strickland is a truly imaginative fantasy that follows a pansexual bloodmage in a Greek-inspired world. This is a must read for anyone who loves fantasy and standalones. The writing is brilliant, the story is fast paced, and the characters are amazing.”

THE GIRL AT THE BACK OF THE BUS by Suzette D. Harrison
Review by Robin @ Robin Loves Reading

“While this story began with Mattie on that monumental bus ride and witnessing what happened to Rosa Parks, the story evolves into a touching story of two strong women and how Mattie’s experiences go a long way into bringing great change into Ashlee’s life. I loved the drama, the warmth, the strength and the message that this book delivered.”

Waiting for a Scot Like You favorite books

Review by Katelynne @ Bitch Bookshelf

“Not only are these historical romance novels totally sexy, feminist, and refreshingly unconventional, but they are also filled with fun 80’s references. (The Footloose reference in this book was hysterical.) Waiting for a Scot Like You by Eva Leigh is tied for my favorite in this amazing trilogy.”

BACKSTORIES by Simon Van Der Velde
Review by Jo @ Jo Linsdell

“I LOVED this book! Fiction, non-fiction and trivia all in the one book. A refreshingly different read. It was great fun trying to work out who each person was. A great selection of people were included too which made it even more interesting. Famous singers, serial killers, historically famous people … this book had them all. Highly recommend.”
