Crown of Midnight by Sarah J. Maas | Book Review

Good morning, bookpups๐Ÿพ Have you read the Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas? I absolutely fell in love with it and just recently finished Crown of Midnight, in time to share my review with you. Enjoy!

QOTD: Do you like strong female leads or damsels in distress?

This is a very valid question! There are readers out there who prefer the man to swoop in like a knight in shining armor and save the princess. While I love a good romance and a good princess story ๐Ÿ˜‰ I like my characters to be able to stand on their own. Like Celaena.

Sarah J. Maas has ripped out my heart and crushed it with Crown of Midnight. Oh, Chaol. NEHEMIAH!

Okay, more coherently …

I absolutely loved this book! It took longer to read because I had ARC deadlines to meet, but each time I picked up Crown of Midnight, I was transported back to Adarlan. Even though most of Celaena’s life isn’t ideal (she’s an assassin and bound to an evil king to do his bidding), I loved watching her relationships grow. Nehemiah, Chaol, Dorian. And Fleetfoot, what a sweetie๐Ÿพ!

This book easily captured my attention and held onto it. I would speed-read through some chapters, eager to find out how they played out, and others I would read through leisurely, absorbing the world Sarah J. Maas has created.

“It’s never made any difference to me when it came to you.
I’d still pick you. I’ll always pick you.”
-Celaena, Crown of Midnight

After everything that happened in Crown of Midnight, I’m in major book hangover territory. But at the same time, I can’t wait to dive into Heir of Fire, as it promises to be just as amazing as the previous two books in the series.

I am still strongly #TeamChaol and have been managing to stay away from any spoilers.

And the revelation at the end … oh my!

Not a genre that I read, but I know she is rather popular.

I wasn’t sure if I was going to enjoy it, because Fantasy isn’t my genre, either. But then I picked up Throne of Glass and I’ve been hooked ever since!

I’m not really a fantasy reader so I don’t think this would be for me but I’ve seen lots of people who love it. Great view.

I’ve never been much of a fantasy reader (especially high fantasy) because there’s just so much information to remember. The Throne of Glass series is … simpler. I’ve actually really been enjoying it!

Thanks, doll! We’re excited to downsize and simplify things ๐Ÿ™‚ And Celaena is definitely a kickass heroine! The only time I’ve rooted for an assassin to be the heroine LOL.

I fell off this series during one of the later books but this makes me want to pick it back up. Heir Of Fire is my favorite in the series so far! ๐Ÿ’š

That’s the one I have up next ๐Ÿ™‚ And I’ve had to set this series aside for a few ARC deadlines but I’m hoping to be able to get back to it quickly.

Same here! I read the first 2 but then got distracted with ARCs and haven’t gone any further. I definitely need to continue. Are you #TeamDorian or #TeamChaol?

I absolutely love strong female leads! I can read a book with a damsel in distress every once in a while but not very often. Thanks for your kind words ๐Ÿ™‚ We’re really enjoying IG!
