Bookstack'd Week #5

Welcome back, book friends! I missed our weekly wrap-up last week because things got a bit crazy around here. My husband and kids got a bit of a flu bug over our anniversary and it just held on. On the plus side, I got a lot of reading done while taking care of them. On bloggish notes, I’m exited to say I was able to copy over all the reviews and discussions from our Ginger Mom & Company blog before it disappeared! ๐Ÿ˜ต What a task that was! So without further ado, let’s jump into my Bookstack’d Week!

This week, weโ€™re linking up with the usual suspects (what else is new ๐Ÿ™‚ ) โ€“ย The Sunday Post,ย Stacking the Shelves, andย Itโ€™s Monday, What Are You Reading?

Mid-Year Challenge Update
It Might Be You by Tara September – blog tour review โญโญโญโญโญ

We had such a good blog tour week on the Bookstacks this week! I read both The Nanny and the Nerd and It’s Raining Men while the little minions and the husband were sick. Oh my, I loved them both! The Nanny and the Nerd is about a broke girl who takes a job as a nanny for a tech mogul and it’s one of the steamiest reads I’ve picked up in a long time! On the other hand, It’s Raining Men follows an almost-forty woman who sends out a drunk text proposing marriage to every guy in her contacts list. Turns out, two of them are interested! Definitely an entertaining read ๐Ÿ™‚

I also decided it was time to update all of you on how I’ve been doing on my reading challenges this year. As someone who went through a serious reading slump at the beginning (and up through about May-ish), I’m pleased with the results.

It’s Shoutout Time!

Bookstack'd Shoutout

Oh my gosh, I love this feature so much!! I get to showcase other book bloggers I’ve visited throughout the week and (in the case of this week where I didn’t touch my computer once … ๐Ÿ˜ฒ), I get to show off one of my favorite bloggers!

This week, I’m sharing a blog post from one of my favorite audiobook bloggers of all time, Eline from Lovely Audiobooks. Her discussion about why audiobooks are anything but lazy is one I’ve read over and over (as a fan of audiobooks, myself)! And … did you know she has a podcast? I know what I’m binge-listening to this afternoon ๐Ÿ˜‰

I did so much better this week!!! I did not buy or borrow any books (I actually RETURNED two Kindle Unlimited books that I finished reading! โœ‹) And I didn’t receive any eARCs this week, either (mostly because I told myself I needed to stop signing up for so many book tours and start reading the books I already have – especially those KU ones that have been sitting on my Kindle FOREVER!!).

All-in-all … pretty impressed with this week!

What I Read Last

I have been hearing about Aurora Teagarden all over the place and really wanted to start the movies on Hallmark, but my book blogger brain said I really should read the books first. So, when I found Real Murders – the first in the Aurora Teagarden Mystery series – on Kindle Unlimited, I decided I needed to read it ๐Ÿ™‚ Spoiler: I love the movies (I’ve watched 3 so far) but probably won’t be continuing the book series. There are quite a few differences between the book and the movie … frankly, I like the movies better. But this was still a โญโญโญโญ read and I will be sharing my review of it this coming week!

What I’m Reading Now
Sweet, Sexy Heart Melissa Foster

I am super excited to be reading Sweet, Sexy Heart by Melissa Foster for my blog tour stop on Wednesday. Dash and Amber are AMAZING (but, when haven’t I said that about one of Melissa Foster’s characters?). I can’t wait to finish it this weekend and see where their story goes. I’ve also caught whispers of a few characters I’ve already fallen in love with (like Brett and Sophie!)

On that note … I STILL need to finish making my Love In Bloom series challenge! Any Melissa Foster fans out there who want to read through her entire series (it’s 100+ books at my last count), stay tuned!

What I’m Reading Next

What I’m reading next … what I’m reading next … what AM I reading next???

I have a blog tour review coming up for Tia Lugo Speaks No Evil by Danette Vigilante so this will PROBABLY be the next book I pick up. As always, keep in mind that you’re talking to a VERY MOODY READER here!

Ugh I hate it when one of us gets sick because I know the other five will follow. I hope your family is feeling much better.
I like the premise for Its Raining Men, Iโ€™ll be adding that to my WTR list.

Wishing you a great reading week
