Bookstack'd Week #2

Happy Sunday, book friends! Are you as excited as I am that it’s the 4th of July? I’ve got plans to do a little grilling (weather-permitting), check out a small-town parade with my the family, and just RELAX! You know what that means? Time for Mama to get some reading done ๐Ÿ™‚

Did you like our Bookstack’d Wrap-up last week? It was so much fun on our end!!

Before we get relaxing too much, let’s look back at our week in books. I’m linking up with the usual suspects again – The Sunday Post, Stacking the Shelves, and It’s Monday, What Are You Reading?

Since joining blog tours again, I’ve been posting pretty consistently and this week was no different ๐Ÿ™‚

Cover Reveal – Trouble by Tia Louise (blog tour)
2021 Literary Escapes Challenge Sign-Up
๐ŸŽงAudiobook Review – Don’t Start Now by Tara September (blog tour)
My Favorite Books for the First Half of 2021

I joined two blog tours – a cover reveal and a book review – and found another reading challenge to join this year. I’ve never really paid much attention to where the books I read take place but now that I’ve found the Literary Escapes Challenge, I’m surprised by how many books I have that are set in different states across the USA.

Shoutout time!

I’m starting something a little bit different in my weekly wrap-up this week ๐Ÿ™‚ A bookish shoutout to some of my favorite book bloggers. This week, I want to give a shoutout to Kait Plus Books because oh my gosh, her blog is so gorgeous. I am in love with all the color and the graphics! Insanely beautiful.

This Week on Bookstagram

It was a very cover reveal-y week, with two new beauties hitting our bookstagram – Trouble by Tia Louise and How to Rope a Loyal Cowboy by Anya Summers.

Thankfully, for my bank account, it was a slow week for book buying. I was able to stick to my book buying ban and only received one eARC.

Cover Reveal Trouble Tia Louise

I am reviewing Trouble by Tia Louise for a blog tour toward the end of July and I can’t wait to get started reading it!

It’s Monday (almost)! What are You Reading?

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? Is a fun meme that focuses on what we read last, what we’re reading now, and what we’re going to read next. So let’s take a look!

What I Read Last
It Might Be You Tara September

Last week I started (and finished!) the short story It Might Be You by Tara September for a blog tour at the end of the month.

What I’m Reading Now
The Year of Less Cait Flanders
Under the Never Sky Veronica Rossi

I am still listening to The Year of Less by Cait Flanders (and it’s prompting us to purge all the junk we’ve been hoarding for years! – needless to say, my apartment looks like a tornado went through!). I’m also about 50% through my re-read of Under the Never Sky by Veronica Rossi (which my coffee-deprived brain just realized fills an opening for the 2021 AtoZ Reading Challenge … huh, go figure!

What I’m Reading Next
Charming and the Cherry Blossom

Up next will very likely be Charming and the Cherry Blossom by L.J. Evans, as my tour stop is the middle of this month. (Oh, and Christmas books, too!!)

Last but not least … what’s Upcoming!!

Christmas in July Read-a-Thon

Who’s ready for some Christmas fun in the middle of this 90-degree heat wave?? MEEEEE!!!

The one thing I despise about Christmas is all the SNOW! Here in the Upper Midwest, they go hand-in-hand. So July 11-17th, we’re going to be reading ONLY Christmas books (let’s hope I get my book tour reads done by then!) Find more details on our Facebook page (or by clicking the image above).

Charming and the Cherry Blossom looks really sweet! And I’d been wondering if anybody would be doing Christmas in July with books. Have fun! ๐Ÿ˜„

I’ve seen a couple other people doing one but I would always rather create my own challenge/read-a-thon than join 5 others doing the same thing. Weird, I know ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks, DJ! I very much am enjoying it again ๐Ÿ™‚ It’s been taking up most of my weekends, though (as I’m too exhausted during the week to do much of anything LOL).

I never really think much about where the books I read are set. Would be interesting to see which countries come up most. I predict it would be UK and USA.

I’m not sure I’d be able to read Christmas books during the summer though. Just wouldn’t feel right in this heat.

    • Reply Bookstacks & Golden Moms July 4, 2021 at 5:07 pm

I am looking forward to my Christmas in July ๐Ÿ™‚ And yes, I think most of the books I read are either US, UK, or some dystopian post-apocalyptic world.

I hope you are enjoying your day! It sounds like you have a fun day planned–and getting in more reading is always a plus. ๐Ÿ™‚

Ooo! Under the Never Sky sounds really good. I probably could use a book like The Year of Less. Charming and the Cherry Blossom looks like fun. I hope you enjoy your reading!

    Have a great week!

I’m eager to finish Under the Never Sky so I can dig into my Christmas in July books ๐Ÿ™‚ You have a great week, as well!

  • Reply RAnn July 5, 2021 at 2:12 pm

I’ve got a couple of Christmas books read already, with reviews scheduled. Will have to see if you have any to add to the TBR.

That’s great! I, unfortunately, am not one of the snow-lovers. Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!
