Good morning, bookpups🐾 Have you ever looked at your bookshelf (physical or virtual) and thought “How on earth am I ever going to read all the books I own?” I have! And that’s why I’ve put together a list of 35 books I absolutely HAVE TO READ before I turn 35 (it’s only a year and a half away … YIKES!)
QOTD: What is one book/series you want to read but just haven’t picked up yet?
I have an insane number of books like this but one that’s been on my shelf the longest is probably Stalking Jack the Ripper by Kerri Maniscalco. I bought it on a whim (and because of all the hype on Bookstagram), but haven’t gotten around to reading it … partially because I’m a serious chicken!

In February of 2019, I started seriously looking at my TBR piles (yes, there are more than one!) and wondering which books I wanted to say that I’d read by the time I turned 35. I’m closing in on it quickly and my TBR gets longer each day (#BookstagramMadeMeDoIt). So I put together a list of 35 books (all parts of series that I had already started) that I wanted to read before my 35th birthday. This list included authors like Melissa Foster, Michelle Madow, Lindzee Armstrong, and of course, Marissa Meyer!
The books chosen in 2019 are all still firmly on my list, though with the addition of my Book of the Month subscription (use our referral link to get your own!), I’ve added a few more Must-Read books to this list. I’m sticking with 35 … but it’s changed a bit.
Book of the Month Picks on my List
We might as well start with the new additions to the list (I may have a book buying problem but no desire to be cured😜) …
No Match For Love
It’s safe to say I love every book I’ve read by Lindzee Armstrong. Her characters are strong, the books are clean, and the romances are so sweet! This woman definitely knows how to write a happily ever after.
My goal is to finish this series but, in order to do that, I’ll probably end up re-reading some. The unread books on my TBR include …
Match Me If You Can (book 7) – GR
Never Say Match (read previously as the novella Cupcakes & Cowboys) – GR
Match Me Again (read previously as the novella Twisters & Textbooks but it has doubled in length) – GR
Mistakenly Matched (read previously as the novella First Love, Second Choice and it has also grown) – GR
My Fake Match (book 12) – GR
Matched by Design (book 13) – GR
Seriously, if you enjoy romances and haven’t read this series … what are you waiting for?💕
The Lunar Chronicles
I am absolutely in love with this series! I’ve read Cinder twice (both times on audio book) and fell in love with Marissa Meyer’s interpretation of this classic fairy tale. Now I just need to sit down and finish the series💕
I’ve technically already read Scarlet, Cress, and part of Winter but I was a bad blogger and never wrote any reviews. Now, to finish the series, I’m going to have to re-read them. Woe is me 😉 I am very excited to get to Stars Above because it’s all the little short stories that go along with the series!
Yes, she gets her own category.
For those of you who have been following my reviews since 2017 (the very beginning), you already know that I am obsessed with Melissa Foster’s writing. I haven’t gotten a chance to read too many of her books but each one I’ve read, I’ve loved beyond words. For the purpose of this TBR, I am going to focus on finishing the Whiskey Family books …
Truly, Madly, Whiskey (book 2) – GR
Wicked Whiskey Love (book 4) – GR
Mad About Moon (book 5) – GR – though I’m not 100% if this is a Whiskey family book
Taming My Whiskey (book 6) – GR
The Gritty Truth (book 7) – GR
In for a Penny (book 8) – GR – this is a Whiskey novella
I will also be reading River of Love (a Braden story), which is the first story that introduces the Whiskey family 💕 And we all know how much I love the Bradens! River of Love on GR.
Twilight meets Aladdin
Have any of you read Michelle Madow’s The Vampire Wish series? I read the first book or two and absolutely loved it! I was also a little embarrassed by how long it took me to connect Twilight and Aladdin, despite it saying so in one of the descriptions I read! Oops, my bad🤦♀️ In order to finish this series, I will be re-reading the first book (and finding all the tidbits I missed the first time around), as well as updating my review.
Throne of Glass
This is a series I’ve been hearing INSANE things about! I started it earlier this year as part of a #BookstagramMadeMeDoIt. I flew through Throne of Glass and Crown of Midnight (read my REVIEW) but haven’t gotten to continue it yet. The ones left on my TBR are …
And the Final 3 Books Are …
That’s it, bookpups🐾. 35 books in 499 days (not counting my actual birthday in 2021). That’s roughly one book every 2 weeks. Bring it on.
