I love every part of this family ... even the stubborn parts (read: Archer). ★☆ ｈｅｌｌｏ • ｌｏｖｅｌｉｅｓ ★☆⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ ---⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ #QOTD: Have you ever broken a bone before?⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ ---⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Hey bookish friends! This is why I have been MIA this last week. Last Thursday, I fought with the ice and guess what?? The ice won. I broke my elbow (not something I would recommend) and had to have surgery. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ 𝗮 𝗳𝗲𝘄 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝗜 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀:⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ 🐻‍❄️ if I didn't already, I HATE winter⁣⁣ 🐧 you need two hands for A LOT of things⁣⁣ 🐻‍❄️ my Kindle has become my best friend for reading⁣⁣ 🐧 everything in my house is covered in a fine layer of dog hair!!⁣ ⁣⁣ ---⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗜'𝘃𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ I FINALLY finished the January pick for our #unperfectlygoldenbookclub after spending an entire week on the couch, sleeping and binge-watching my favorite sci-fi shows. ★☆⁣⁣ ＡＲＣ • ｒｅｖｉｅｗ ★☆⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣ ⁣⁣ #QOTD: What's the last 5-star book you read?⁣ ⁣ ---⁣ ⁣ I went into LUNAR LOVE fairly blind. It was a spontaneous NetGalley recommendation from @purposelyunperfect (you're an enabler. you know that, right? 😘). I didn't read the synopsis or judge it based on anything other than a bestie's rec and that insanely gorgeous cover. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ LUNAR LOVE by @laurenkjessen is a heartwarming, refreshingly original rivals-to-lovers romance. I've seen it labeled as an enemies-to-lovers but I don't think I agree with that. Bennett and Olivia are definitely rivals ... but the attraction is always there (maybe more so for Bennett than Olivia). ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ I really enjoyed how I was immersed into the Chinese culture as Olivia and Bennett (both mixed-race adults) are learning and teaching each other. My world is currently covered in a thick coating of ice (thanks a lot, Mother Nature) so I'm taking a closer look at my out-of-control Book of the Month pile. ⁣ ⁣ Because I've been in the mood for making lists (it has SORT-OF helped me get my NetGalley backlog under control), I made up a list for BOTM. I wasn't overly thrilled with the results ...⁣ ⁣ ---⁣ ⁣ Joined BOTM: June 2020⁣ Months skipped: 12 (yikes!)⁣ Books Ordered: 47⁣ Books Read: 9⁣ ⁣ 💚 Loved: 6⁣ 😀 Liked: 3⁣ 😡 Disliked: 0⁣ 🙈 DNF: 0⁣ ⁣ 😘 Favorite book so far: THE KISS CURSE - I absolutely loved Gwyn and Wells!!!⁣ 😕 Least favorite book: THE VANISHING HALF. ☆★ ＡＲＣ Ｒｅｖｉｅｗ ★☆⁣⁣ ⁣ Oh my gosh, this was one of my most anticipated reads of 2023! If you've been around my booksta, you probably already know how much I loved PART OF YOUR WORLD and the baby goat in pajamas. ⁣ ⁣ 🥂I read YOURS TRULY as part of the NetGalley Reading Challenge hosted by @travelling.pages.tours⁣ ⁣ ---⁣ ⁣ 𝗬𝗢𝗨𝗥𝗦 𝗧𝗥𝗨𝗟𝗬 | authorabbyjimenez⁣ Out April 11, 2023 from @readforeverpub⁣ ⭐️⁣⭐️⁣⭐️⁣⭐️⁣⭐️⁣⁣ ⁣ Okay, there's no baby goat in pajamas in YOURS TRULY but thankfully, Wakan's town mascot Kevin Bacon (the pig, not the man) makes an appearance. And I immediately fell in love with Jacob's amputee dog, Lieutenant Dan!⁣ ⁣ So this book centers around Briana - an ER doctor who has been through hell and back with her ex - and Jacob - also an ER doctor who suffers from social anxiety. After a rough introduction, Briana agrees to be Jacob's fake boyfriend so that he can convince his family he's okay. That he's moved on from his ex-girlfriend getting engaged to his younger brother. Yikes!⁣ ⁣ I loved the banter between Jacob and Briana! If there's one thing that Jimenez excels at, it's hilarious banter. I also loved how the first part of their relationship takes place through letters. Not texts, emails, or even a conversation. Just letters. I thought it was a very romantic start. ⁣ ⁣ Fake-dating has always been one of my favorite tropes and this one didn't disappoint. It mixed in quite a bit of miscommunication but I loved watching Briana and Jacob's relationship grow. Even though they kept telling themselves it was just fake. ⁣ ⁣ 🐷 Kevin Bacon (the pig, not the man) says to make sure you add this one to your TBR and 𝙥𝙧𝙚-𝙤𝙧𝙙𝙚𝙧 𝙞𝙩 𝙩𝙤𝙙𝙖𝙮! Thank you to @rachelsreadsandreviews for putting this stinky little gem on our radar.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ ---⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ 𝗜 𝗘𝗮𝘁 𝗣𝗼𝗼𝗽 | @authorstrator⁣⁣ Narrated by Torian Brackett⁣⁣ Published by @macmillan.audio January 10, 2023⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Favorite quote: "𝙄 𝙗𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙧𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝 𝙢𝙮 𝙗𝙪𝙩𝙩!"⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Oh my gosh, I have not laughed so much over a kid's book ... ever! I listened to I EAT POOP 𝘁𝘄𝗶𝗰𝗲! by myself before I listened to it with the little minions. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ This is the story of a dung beetle who loves to eat poop. But he's embarrassed and doesn't want his schoolmates to know. Essentially, it's about him learning to have courage with his peers. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ What got me the most was all the extras from the other students. I don't want to share them because it would spoil but I highly recommend this book! ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Torian Brackett does a FANTASTIC job of narrating I EAT POOP but what I've seen from other reviews, the illustrations are gorgeous, as well. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ The little minions and I will be making a trip to our local library to check out this one for ourselves.
