20 Books of Summer Challenge

Happy Saturday, bookies! I am jumping back into reading this summer (climbing out of a 5-month long reading slump) and I’m joining another teensy Summer Reading Challenge! Who doesn’t love a good reading challenge during the warmest part of the year? The 20 Books of Summer Challenge, hosted by 746 Books is a 3-month challenge that will pair nicely with our Summer NetGalley Challenge. Ready to see the books I’ve chosen for my 20 Books of Summer TBR? Let’s dive in.

A Novella Summer

Because I’m already doing our Summer NetGalley Challenge, I’m going to use this as a challenge to read more novellas. Let’s face it – I fall in love with an author or series, buy all the little novellas that go along with it, and then never read them. So here are 20 that I’m choosing to read during the summer months (each of these are books that I already own so I’m also using this as an excuse to put myself on a bit of a book buying ban).

Gentleman of Her Dreams 20 Books of Summer Challenge
The Viscount's Tempting Minx
The Wrong Brother Bree Wolf
Daring Her Love Melissa Foster

All I have to say here is … Regency romance and the Bradens!! Two of my favorite things ๐Ÿ™‚

Pastels and Jingle Bells 20 Books of Summer
Love's Healing Touch Autumn MacArthur
Love's Pulse Liz Isaacson

This year, I’m planning on doing a mini Christmas In July read-a-thon so I can use the 20 Books of Summer challenge for that, as well ๐Ÿ™‚ And I’m very excited to dip into another Kindle Worlds series – many authors, one “world”.

Feudlings in Smoke 20 Books of Summer
Finding Cinderella Colleen Hoover
It Started with a Kiss Lindy Dale
One Night with Darcy Melissa Belle

I have always loved Wendy Knight’s Fate on Fire series so I’m super-excited to continue on with one of the Fate on Fire novellas – Feudlings in Smoke. If you haven’t read this series, you should definitely check out Feudlings! It’s one of my favorite magic books … ever.

Clipper Beach Roma Brooks novella
Taking a Chance on the Heartbreaker 20 Books of Summer
Haven on the Riverwalk
Once Upon a Bride 20 Books of Summer

And, because Dystopian novels have always been my first love, I’m adding one of them in, as well …

The Wall Dystopian novella
Magic UnMasked Megan Crewe
Second Chances 101 20 Books of Summer
No Place Like Oz Dorothy Must Die

20-Second Rant

Pause for just a sec …

Does anyone get as frustrated as I do when you try to add books to your TBR, only to find out the titles have changed or the covers have changed or Amazon JUST DOESN’T HAVE THEM anymore?? Half of the books on this TBR were purchased between 2013 and 2017. A lot can change in a few years …

End rant ๐Ÿ™‚

20 Books of Summer … Subject to Change

As always, my TBRs are subject to change. I’m a very moody reader so what sounds appealing now may not hold my interest in a couple months. The beauty of this challenge is that you can adjust your TBR (or completely throw it out the window) if you so choose. My kind of challenge!

Are you participating in the 20 Books of Summer Challenge, hosted by 746 Books? Which reads have made it onto your TBR? Let us know in the comments and, as always, thanks for reading!

I normally don’t read novellas because they don’t give me everything I want from a story. But I’m hoping these will be good ones ๐Ÿ™‚

Great challenge and I hope you do really well. Regarding your rant, I have been checking links, etc to old posts on the blog. The amount of books that have changed their covers is flabbergasting. Also quite a few had changed their names, whilst I think up to now I have found 12 that are no longer for sale and the authors have also ditched all their social media etc.

I absolutely hate it when I fall in love with a book, want to share it with everyone, and can’t figure out how to do that. Book names change, books no longer for sale (like you said), book covers change. It’s frustrating!

I am definitely a moody reader! Right now I’m all about rom-coms.

I hear you! It is even worse when they change the title right before publication as I’m getting ready to read the ARC, so my lists hold a different title and I can’t find their files on my kindle or in my calendar and spend a day looking for it.

This sounds like a fun reading challenge, I love the covers of the books youโ€™ve picked.

All of these look great, and the historical titles caught my bodice-ripper-reading eyes.
